What to know about this beach
The bay opens to the south-east on the Caribbean Sea, on the opposite side of the island from the Atlantic gateways sargassum uses to reach the region. Mats that travel this far have thinned out, so episodes here are irregular and usually modest next to what the eastern coast absorbs.
