What to know about this beach
The trade winds hit Ocean Park almost side-on, and that steady easterly is exactly what made the beach a kiteboarding and windsurfing spot in San Juan. The same flow drives sargassum drift, but here it runs along the coast instead of straight into it, since Puerto Rico's north shore is less directly targeted than the eastern facade.
Nothing offshore filters the approach: no reef flat, no breakwater.
