Just south of the Tulum archaeological zone, Playa Santa Fe runs as a long open stretch of sand with little built frontage along much of its length. Access is on foot from the coastal road in Quintana Roo, which makes it one of the busiest public beaches on this part of the Riviera Maya.

What to know about this beach
Everything here follows from a clean, unobstructed east-facing front. The sand slopes gently into shallow water and nothing interrupts the line between the beach and open sea: no pronounced rocky point, no enclosed cove. Rafts carried in by the trade winds arrive head on, and they also leave more readily when the wind swings north.
That geometry has a practical consequence. At Santa Fe conditions can turn over quickly: a band dumped overnight may be dragged back out within a day, where a sheltered cove would hold it far longer. Length matters too. Accumulation is rarely even from one end to the other, so it is worth walking a few hundred metres before judging the whole beach.

Exposure is the same, straight east, but the profile is more open. With no point to trap weed, deposits settle and clear faster here than at the rocky northern tip of the Tulum strip.
